Update:

Our proposal keeps the Order of Precedence as is, with the added stipulation that
historic Flags of Australia would retain their order classification, but would always
follow behind the more recent design.

Example: During a naval ceremony the ANF & White Ensign may have both their
historic & current designs flown in commemoration of services members both
past & present. In this example (assuming this proposal is chosen by the Australian
people) the Order of Precedence would be as follows (ordered from top to bottom):

Order of Precedence

The Australian National Flag (‘ANF’) takes precedence over all other flags when
flown in Australia. Of course, not every flag needs to be flown on every occasion;
rather, this rule & the Order of Precedence (left) simply establishes the order in
which flags are to be flown for those chosen to be flown on that occasion.

For instance, you would not fly a local government flag ahead of any state flags,
since the local government flag is lower in the Order of Precedence.

This then begs the question: “What happens to the order
if we change the ANF & other related Flags of Australia?”
